3/1/2020 Zebra Slot Canyon is a very fun, family-friendly (we brought our 10-month-old) hike in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Utah. It's less popular than Peek-a-Boo Canyon or Spooky Canyon, which means you don't have to deal with as many crowds. The hike is not as scenic as some, but it's still a very pretty and picturesque canyon and is very much worth the hike. The hike to the slot canyons is very exposed and sandy. Be sure to bring a lot of water. Once you reach the slots be prepared to wade through cold murky water than can be waist deep or deeper. Zebra slot canyon becomes very narrow very fast. To get further back into the canyon you will need to do some stemming up the canyon walls. 5.0 11/29/2014 Zebra Slot Canyon is a short narrow slot that has horizontal strips of light and dark colors. It is typically visited at the same time as Tunnel Slot Canyon as the access trail is the same. You’ll find the trailhead on the Hole In The Rock Road which goes SE from Highway 2 starting about 5 miles east of the small town of Escalante, UT. 3/1/2020

Zebra Slot Canyon is a very short slot canyon, named for its striped canyon walls. It’s a gorgeous spot, maybe not quite as pretty as Antelope Canyon in Arizona, but since you can explore this on your own without a guide or tour group, it’s more fun. Hiking Zebra Slot Canyon can be a little tricky.

To reach Tunnel Slot, go down Harris Wash a little less than a mile (20-30 minutes) from Zebra to the first side canyon coming in on the left. Go up this side canyon about 10 minutes to reach the Tunnel. It can be dry, or a deep pool. Return up Harris Wash to Halfway Hollow and follow the trail back to the trailhead.

Dec 11, 2020 · Zebra Slot Canyon is one of a handful of canyons in Utah carved out by wind and water over time. As a slot canyon, there are points where it is narrower than your outstretched arms. This makes exploring the canyon quite a fun adventure. The canyon itself is only around 300 feet long and is mostly only wide enough for one or two people at a time.
